We had a great ALF AMAC, Associate Medical Advisory Committee, meeting on July 24. The featured speaker was Dr. Irine Vodkin from UC San Diego Health Sciences, who presented on Nutrition and Liver Disease. The talk was very well received. If you are interested in her presentation, you can view a recorded webinar of the presentation that she did for ALF on March 8, 2017. CLICK HERE to watch the recording.

ALF and the Alcohol Policy Panel of San Diego County meeting with the office of California Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher to talk about the harmful effects of SB905
Great Alcohol Policy Panel meeting today with the office of California Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher to talk about the harmful effects of SB905 ... which would allow for a pilot to extend bars hours to 4 am in 7 cities.
Why We don’t Need a 4 AM Bar Bill in California
If implemented, California Senate Bill 905(SB905) will negatively impact the health of 76 percent of the state’s population. It is critical that residents of California take notice and take a stand. To prevent further unnecessary injury and death, we must place community health and safety above any potential revenue from the alcohol industry. To do so we will need common sense public policy combined with education about how alcohol affects the liver to truly make an impact on alcohol consumption in the state of California, which is why we are calling for widespread opposition of California Senate Bill 905. The Assembly Appropriations Committee currently has this bill in suspense. Let Committee Chairwoman Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher know your position on this bill. You can send her a message HERE.
